is this the iem shell from the HEM series with the driver from the ne800?
i have both hem2 and ne800's.
while my hem2's are my commuter/daily's alongside a pair of 1more triples, the hem shells are my favorite, most comfortable IEM shells of any unit iv'e owned, you can lie down with them in.
Same shell design but with a new driver 6mm micro which throws out solid detail and to my ears sound better than the NE850. Not as colored in the mids and has less mid bass, balanced better but what is really surprising is it has just as much sub bass as the NE850.
how does it compare to shure 215s or hem 1 ?
Sorry don't have the Shure 215 or the HEM1s. I can tell you they are similar to the tuning on the NE750m with the sub bass of the NE850m. Don't know how new the HEM1s are but I have not seen a single review on those yet.
wonder how the hem 1 and 2 compare, they seem to both be single knowles BA's
There is no HEM earphone that will match the bass on these I can tell you that much. Not even the HEM8 with 4 BAs have the sub bass texture or extension of the EDCs. They do much better for mids and highs but not to the level that is vastly substantial.
In fact for outdoor listening I definitley prefer the EDCs.
after joining the drop for this i got a little crazy and bought a pair of campfire vega's, i'll probably mix these in with the hem2's for when i need something where im not worried about leaving the vegas somewhere. I have pretty close to 100 pairs of headphones onhand now, this is becoming excessive lol. the nuforce shells are still my favorite of any iems i own, hands down.
