Are these better than the KZ ZS5?
I don't have the ZS5, however I do think these are better than my ZS6's--and thats with the upgraded braided silver audio cable (no mic).
I actually really enjoy my ZS6's, especially when paired w/ my Topping NX4DSD. However, my biggest complaint with them is that they are not comfortable to wear for extended listening sessions. Its not even fatigue, its literally the dimensions of the iem. Its bulky, rectangular shapes protrudes into my ear, so I can't wear them for more than 4-5 hours, certainly not a whole work day. (Which really stinks because I love how they sound!)
These EDC's are a different story. I wasn't expecting much, especially considering the ZS6's have a quad driver design, and these only have a 6.3 dynamic driver. Wow was I wrong. The internal acoustic design really makes a difference! Also, these are designed to sit comfortably in your ear, so I can wear these for my entire shift at work and barely notice they're on.
A lot of folks have complained that these are too bass heavy before the burn in period. I actually didn't mind the extra bass, I think its great. Although after having burned these in for 50-60 hours, the bass did tone down a little bit so now its more controlled.
I definitely recommend trying these out. I wasn't expecting to like these as much as I do, and I now literally use these as my daily iem drivers!
My experience has been exactly the same with my ZS6 and EDC...
