I have purchased headphones from Massdrop before and have been happy with the product and value for money Massdrop brings. These EDCs were an unknown, but with added Absolute Sound magazine endorsement I jumped on the chance. But, for me, they're a Big Fail - I found them thin and lacking in Bass. Perhaps IEMs are much more sensitive to user hearing variations. Even the HiFiMAN HE4XXs I can find bass heavy" on SOME tracks, so I'm not a bass addict. Lesson learnt, never buy earphones and IEMs without listening to them first!

skris88Hey skris88, Oooo, that sounds like lack of seal...thin/no bass is not how you should hear them. Did you try the foam tips? If you get a great seal but they sound like that, I am not sure what is going on. Might need replacement pair.

CEE_TEEJust noticed this, sorry for the late reply. No. I think it is my ears. They don't like earphones. The only in-ear 'phones I can enjoy are the Bose Sound True Ultras. Their bass is okay for me. But I find they have an irritating peak at 8kHz. And they led me to Superlux open-back HD-681 headphones (this was before my MassDrop HiFiMAN HE4XXXs), as their seal made it fairly strange (having been weened on Sennheiser HD600 and HD650 open back headphones for more than 10 years. The Superlux too have a treble peak (IMO) but they are as cheap as chips, so I won't complain, just use them with some EQ.
