NeonFreecI mean, this is a new product on Massdrop, and they don't have it stocked in their warehouse in comparison to say, their AKG K7XX. NuForce is using an extended shipping time, which makes the item cheaper to say, their HEM6, which is the equivalent non-massdrop item.The NuForce's HEM6, costs 300 USD on amazon as of typing, and this only costs 100.

anoymnusQuestion is if HEM6 and EDC3 are really the same thing? They look similar in theory - 3ba, similar shells and - what you can read from reviews - similar sound signature... but are you 100% sure they are the same thing? Just wanted to know because it would be great bang for the buck.

Per Jyri: Of course not. HEM6 has way more expensive drivers, higher end braided cable, more sophisticated crossover design, different tuning and more accessories. Driver selection is the main difference though. The HEM6 drivers cost roughly 3 times more to procure. We could never sell HEM6 with $99. Our own manufacturing cost is higher than that. Does the HEM6 have better performance than EDC3? Yes. Is the performance 3x better? That is subjective - as always with high end audio.
