Very nice monitors, which I purchased on the last drop prior to this. However, there is one concern on my behalf. An increasing number of cell phones use a usb-c for both audio and charging, and lack the usual mini jack. Replacing the cord seems to be pretty straight (have not tried yet!).
Adding a usb-c cable would be a very welcome upgrad! Or, providing a such as a separate drop to complement the monitors is even better!
Disclaimer: I'm not a tech guy. I have no idea if the connection between the cord and monitors are proprietary or standardized. Feel free to educate me :)
Other than this: Great items!!!
Stereo out and USB-C are VERY different kinds of ports.
Even if it were possible (on the hardware front) you'd need to instruct the software (cell phone) to send nothing but audio through the cable. Or implement an extra piece of hardware (called a Digital to Analog Convertor or DAC for short) in to the earphones to turn the digital signal in to sound.
If you wanted to use these with a device that doesn't have a headphone jack get yourself a nice Bluetooth DAC and just work it out that way. They don't have to be expensive. My dad bought one the other day for I believe less than $15.
