These of the Shure SE215?
The 215 is more "fun" (slight V-shaped) but the EDC3 is smoother and more transparent. Depends on what you prefer in your sound sig.
So it might even be best to buy both?
They're both different enough for that to be reasonable. Ergonomics are the same and they use the same tips so that's a plus. The cables are different as I prefer the stock Nuforce cable comfort wise over the Shure despite the Shure cable being much stronger. They both get stupid loud from just a cellphone and each sound good in their own way.
Absolute legend thank you so much for this
I have both.. and I love the se215. It’s hard...
The se215 is very well tuned and has that bass... tight, deep, visheral. Midrange and vocals is very good and liquid.
The Edc3 has more clarity to the sound, bass is typical for a BA. You can ear it, not much feel it. Of course the dynamic driver mooves more air and has better rumble.
Also, the se215 has fuller lower-mids for a warmer tone overall.
The edc3 is more technical capable iem, with better clarity across the range. The se215 is more ‘analog’ and ’romantic’. The edc3 more neutral/technical iem.
For bassheads, se215. For an all round, it’s down to preference.
Both very good iems.
