My EDC 3's just arrived in the mail today, I live in Australia, and I already really love these IEM's for their sound quality and comfort. BUT I also have one big problem with these. Whenever i plug them in, I can always hear a constant static. Barely audible, but audible nonetheless, and it REALLY bothers me. I can hear the slight static in the background of my music, when watching YouTube videos and also when I'm not listening to anything. I have tried on my PC, laptop, iPhone, mp3, iPod, but it happens on all devices. I have also tried changing my sound settings on my PC and laptop, but nothing seems to work. This problem is a MAJOR turn-off and I wish my EDC 3's didn't have this static ;_; . Does anyone have any suggestions to what may be causing the static noise and any ways I can remove it?
They're very sensitive to the noise floor of your source. I find that using my pc I don't notice it with an alc1220 and while using it with my pixel xl I also don't notice it. But using the Essential phone's usb c to 3.5mm adapter the sound is overall better but there is some hiss from the noise floor. Maybe try something like Schiit's Fulla 2 dac amp combo or something like that that is relatively inexpensive to see if its the iem's fault or your sources.
