The beanie is warm and soft but I had to stretch it out to use it, it's super tiny, did I get the kid's size by mistake? Once I washed it, it shrunk so much that I couldn't put it on my head at all!

AashritJust a heads up, don't put any kind of wool in the dryer in the future. It absolutely will shrink and generally that shrinkage is permanent. You can try washing the beanie again, stretching it while wet, and then letting it air dry. Sometimes you can get it back to its former shape & size (or at least closer), depending on what kind of wool/if it's a blend/how much it shrank/whatever.
I'm curious, did it come with a tag inside with care instructions? It would be a pretty big gaffe if they didn't say on the tag to not put it in the dryer.
