I have the original Sprout and still enjoy it and use it almost daily -- excellent unit that achieves what PS Audio's designers intended. I use it mostly as a headphone amp frankly with different inputs feeding it (Technics direct-drive turntable; a CD player; my cable TV box via the coax digital input; and various bluetooth audio-enabled devices).
When not using headphones, I'm using a bluetooth transmitter from the headphone jack on the Sprout to send audio to a pair of active powered speakers with bluetooth (yeah, I know I'm not getting the full benefit of the Sprout's built-in amp but, no speaker wires....).
Anyway, glad to hear they added the bass-boost defeat functionality. I noticed slits for heat dissipation also. I'm not familiar with the DAC they're using for the Sprout II, but if they maintain the utility and sound quality of the first Sprout, this should be just as good (plus, I noted the extra power and remote they've added).
