Can someone please confirm If I want the correct alignment profile and legends, to cover Tokyo60 HHKB is:
Been looking into this myself; I dont think the novelties will fully cover the modifier keys for option 2, you would be missing tab, caps lock and a 1u R4 mod key (fn key next to right shift). I was a little sad you only get 2 1.25u mod keys with the novelties, but then I decided to buy a Tokyo60 so all's well that ends well :)
I don't get your reply sorry for being noob. so his Option #2 is still not complete for Tokyo60 ? What else does it need than those three? Is his option 1 cover the wholething?
I was a noob a year ago, still kind of am lol, I just learned those Super modifiers are actually 1.5u (The More You Know™)
This image shows all of the sizes you need for modifier keys on an HHKB-style layout like the Tokyo60 (from Deskthority):
With only the novelty kit you are missing a 1.75u for the Hyper key (typically caps lock) and two more 1.5u keys for tab and backspace (assuming you already used the two 1.5u keys for the Super modifiers).
As far as the 1u Fn key goes (by right shift), you could get by with sticking the R3 1u novelty there, but you may not like the way the different row profiles look next to each other. If you don't understand what that means you can see it here:
and read about it here:
If you comb through the base kit keys you'll see there is actually a 1.75u R3 Control key and a 1u R4 Fn key specifically for HHKB-like keyboards; the base kit comes with enough extra keys to fit this set on a ton of different board layouts too, so you're not limited if you want to put these on a different board later. Hope that helps!
wow thanks for the references, that layout with reference to the size 'u' helps a lot.
Just to confirm, than buying "base kit" alone is actually enough to cover Tokyo60 layout! I guess I will get Base + Pure Hiragana :) Thanks!
wow these pictures and reference are really helpful! based on seeing tokyo60 layout, that means having Base Kit alone is enough ? Am I missing something again.. :\
You're right, the base kit has everything you need for the Tokyo60! The Pure Hiragana and novelties are just to show off ;)
Godspeed on getting hiragana produced
What happens if pure hiragana doesnt meet MOQ?:( my order is cancelled?
It is removed from the order, and the remainder of your order will go through
Thats shocking... than would it be safer to just order Nishi and Pure Hiragana if I want to secure at least one of them ? :( and if both goes thru I may cancel the Nishi....
I would personally order both in the same, and ask MD to remove one or the other if necessary, but yeah, up to you buddy
