I'm not a steel expert but I think that the corrosion resistance of this steel is preponderant compared to the cutting capacity (the carbon content is not very high whereas it is the case for chromium).
That said, I have this knife that I wear and use frequently since my purchase (its robustness is reassuring) and I am very satisfied with its cutting capacity and performance... the heat treatment must be very well done (the "best" steel with a bad thermic treatment = bad result).
