Hi everyone,
We’re checking in to let you know the Massdrop x Schwarz Perpetua EDC Folding Knife is making its way through production. Check out the latest photo of the blades back from heat treatment:

We’re on track to meet our new estimated ship date of late July, and we’ll check back in around mid July with the latest information.
We also wanted to remind you that since you are a part of the first production you’ll receive access to a live Q&A with TJ Schwarz! This will take place sometime in July and you’ll receive an invitation via email.
AveryCThanks for the update, love the production pics. I feel like this should be a regular part of the process for developing new knives (and other stuff).
Everyone loves to see how things are made! And it eases the burden of waiting haha
HatuletohJust to say, millit knives instagram provides occasional updates concerning the progress. Last update they provided said they were waiting on thumb studs and were going to laser engrave them (supposedly they weren't going to do the engraving). They said the knives are probably going to be provided to massdrop within 2 weeks and delivered from there.
StickFighterThank you for that info, most appreciated. I admit I'm the annoying luddite who has no social media accounts. Never have
"Knives to Massdrop in two weeks"1 would put them right on track to be shipped at the end of the month as projected, so that's cool.
I would still like an "official" statement from MD though, given that we were told one would be made "mid July" and it will very shortly be a date that wouldn't be encompassed within even the most generous interpretation of the prefix "mid".
*A totally irrelevant tangent:
Hmmm..."'mid July" makes me hear a song in my head...cant quite remember...ah, now I do: it was Gatlinburg in mid July / I just hit town and my throat was dry / thought I'd stop and have myself a brew. In an old saloon on a street of mud / there at a table dealing stud / sat the dirty mangy dog who named me Sue.
Best $58 I ever spent was for the final tour of Johnny Cash (and Family!) at Kingsbury Hall, U of Utah, 10/1997, 2nd row, dead center. I was the youngest person in the building by at least three decades, other than my friend, and we did not give the slightest goddamn. We cheered and danced and sang along; it was awesome. After playing the aforementioned song for the second encore, as the crowd applauded, Johnny turned and applauded each musician and family member on stage in turn, recognizing and thanking them so audience would too. Finally, after everyone on stage got their applause and literal moment in the spotlight, Johnny pointed as us--at me!--and the spotlight lit us up, and Johnny himself clapped and bowed and mouthed the words "thank you" for our very noticable enthusiasm. Wow..I'd almost forgotten about that but I read "mid July" and BAM! came back like a flood. Not a month later Johnny announced he was sick (we could see he didn't feel well at the show) and was done touring. Never skip a concert from a great musician you want to see because you're too cheap or too busy or to lazy to go. Never say "I'll catch them next time", because sometimes there is no next time.
jpjpjpI got an email stating on July 19th they updated us that they should be getting the knives sent to them in about a week and will work to get them sent out. Kinda sucks. it’s just getting further and further.
JhansonThat's weird. I just checked my email and I didn't get anything. Would that mean they've missed me by an accident?? That would not be a good thing if they've missed me by a mistake. Anyways, thanks for letting me know. :)
Jhanson@Jhanson@jpjpjp - heya, the team will send another update shortly... sounds like it will go out tomorrow.
@jpjpjp - if you didn't see the last email it may be because of your email settings. If you're in the transaction on the transactions page, you're good to go for the drop and should get updates.
