Anyone know for vocal distance, which has the closest and upfront female vocal? I listen to a lot of female rock, acoustic and pop songs. HE4XX or HD6XX or HD58X? I'm reading conflicting opinions between HE4XX and HD6XX, some say HE4XX is closer and some say HD6XX is closer, I wonder if it could be the difference in amps that result in different opinion. I'm planning to pick up one as my more serious open headphone lol (previously tried Philips SHP9500 and vocal is too far). Currently headphone is Denon AH-D2000. Thanks!

HydeHopefully you found your answer but if not I would recommend the 6XX for vocals. Male and female vocals are very pronounced and are the focus of the Senheisers. They aren't exaggerated but they are the star of the show and very natural sounding. The 4XX may be technically better overall but their vocals don't live up to the Sennheisers. They are a hair further back and thinner sounding in comparison. The 6XX and 58X are similar but everything is a touch better separated and smoother on the 6XX.

mrcrunch08Thank you for the reply! LOL sorry things have changed and I've decided that open back headphones might not be good for my usage. Currently working from home with my wife's desk next to mine and eventually going back to the office and open headphone would not be ideal. So I'm currently back to researching closed back headphones and have raised my budget quite a bit too lol. Right now I'm looking at Audio Technica ATH-WP900 and Focal Elegia but leaning more on the Audio Technica. Still doing research now so it's not for certain yet. But definitely appreciate your feedback, I'll keep that in mind for the future if I try to shop for open backs again. Thank you!!!
