Sure. The DT880 Chrome Edition 600 ohm has one of the crispest treble I've heard but it isn't perfect with a large spike around 9k. The HD58X have a much smoother treble response but not being quite as crisp and slightly less present than the DT880.
The HD6XX has a nicely detailed, smooth but recessed/"veiled" treble response. The HD6XX seems much more relaxed, favoring the mids compared to the upper treble. There is a minor bit of shoutiness with the HD6XX in the lower treble and high mids that is noticeable on certain vocals and instruments. It's true that you can make out all the details on the HD6XX, you just have to focus your attention on it.
The HD58X has more energy in the treble region despite what Massdrop's FR comparison suggests. The HD58X appears to have less issues with shout and has better presence in the overall treble region giving it more energy overall without being boosted. They are more fatiguing than the HD6XX but overall is better representative of the original recording.
In the end, sound signature preference is subjective but I feel these present themselves in a more energetic way without coloring the sound towards the mids which the HD6XX tends to do. HD58X is a more lively sound that gives equal attention to the music. This allows the HD58X to give more attention the entire treble range without being overemphasized while still retaining refinement. HD6XX gives vocals a more intimate and softer presentation pushing back the rest of the sound.

PockyGI just missed the 6XX drop and reluctantly went for the 58X instead. This makes me thrilled that I did. Now I’m checking the shipping updates constantly! Thanks for the good comparison and review. I may have missed in your post, but what are you using to drive them?

MegazineI don't normally have a set playlist to compare since I'll just swap headphones during a song I happen to be listening to. Headphones are just a tool to enjoy music for me, not the other way around. I try not to limit myself to a specific genre but I tend to listen to j-pop since I'm a closet weeb.
But some songs I do reference often: Nier: Automata OST - Soundstage and vocals. Tomita Miyu & Ise Mariya - Deep in Abyss: For details and separation. The Candy Shop Boys - Evil Man Blues: Can sound harsh on unbalanced headphones. Tonality. OVERWERK - Force: Bass extension. N.A.S.A. - Gifted (Feat. Kanye West, Santogold & Lykke Li): Highly layered and multiple vocals. WHITE ASH - Insight: Transient response.

I'm extremely happy with this purchase. A massive win by Sennheiser and Massdrop and an absolute steal of a headphone. I've been lucky enough to listen to a decent variety of headphones at around this price range and boy these really punch far beyond their price point.
Speed, right there among planars like the T50RP mk3. Bass, digs deeper than the HD6xx yet manages to sound more balanced similar to my Fidelio L2. Detailed and smooth mids but sweeter than the DT 880. Clear and present treble like the DT 880 without the harshness. Enveloping and engaging soundstage, you'll lose yourself in the music from the very first note.
I'm grasping at straws for cons... headband finish is sub par... very slightly less detailed than the HD6XX. I'm having a very hard time being negative on these, they sound far better than they first appear.
These are instantly at the upper echelon of my collection. If you want more fun, depth and energy from the HD6XX while retaining Sennheiser's signature refinement, these are your dream headphones.
