The original HD580 was first lusted pair headphones which got me into headphone rabbit hole. Never had i expected this model to be relaunched into this incarnation but it's definitely wonderful to have a pair. IMHO, the HD 58X sounded more refined and polite compared to my HD 6XX and HD600. Sub bass is a little rolled off and highs seemed to lack the gentle sparkle compared to the former 2. While it sounds like a recipe for disaster, the HD 58X seems to handle many of my listening genres with much ease and grace without any hint of aggressiveness.
TLDR: easy to listen, polite and polished.
