I watched a review done by HardwareCanucks and they highly praised this headset, so I was intrigued and took a chance with this. In regards to the comfort and sound quality, this headset is fantastic. Unfortunately, the build quality of this is not worth the price point, in my opinion. They feel cheaply made, the bridge that holds it all together feels like a cheap plastic and the housing on the outside of both ear cups also feels like this. The metal cover going over the outside of each ear cup feels fine, that's really the only part of the casing that feels legit. As for the cushions on the sides, they feel great and are really comfortable so far. The same with the foam on the interior, I haven't noticed any pain from my ears pressing on the insides. The top cushioning isn't made of the same material, but it does still feels comfortable. I also own the Sennheiser GAME ONE headset, and I was hoping these would have been built similar (I know they cost more, but they're always on sale for about the same price as the 58X). The cable length is definitely another plus for this headset, most of the cables that came with my previous headsets were all about 3ft long. Overall these aren't the best that I envisioned them to be, but I knew there was a chance they would go one way or another when I purchased them. EDIT 7/2/2020 I was wrong with my initial 3 star review, so I need to update this. When I originally got these, I had 0 idea about DAC/AMPs, soundstage, etc, I was just looking for something better than your standard gaming headset. I have since tried out different headsets, with my current being the Beyerdynamic DT99 Pro. I realized how wonderful these headphones are after spending time with them using various knowledge I gained from others online, as well as using a dedicated DAC/AMP to drive these (not that these need one, they're pretty easy to drive with most modern motherboards). Anyways the build quality I pointed out from my original review still stands, but honestly if you treat these right they are built rather well. I've had mine for almost 2 years now, and while they haven't been my daily drivers, they are still in great condition. I still like my Beyer's, but I like to swap them out with these for gaming and music from time to time. There are plenty of Beyerdynamic vs 58X threads online, so you can get plenty of research done comparing the two. Which would I recommend? I can't say, I'm still unsure myself. Just know that for this price, these headphones are wonderful, and if you're coming from HyperX, Corsair, Razer, etc., these are a huge upgrade. These are really great for gaming, in my opinion.

aaksernThis headphones design has been around for a long time, 24 years to be exact, and the HD58x has the exact same build quality as the rest of the HD600 line. In fact the paint work is better than my last pair of HD650s. There's plenty of people that have used them for over 10 years and just change the pads once in awhile. Really they're more durable than they appear, just don't step on them or try and loosen the tension by pulling on the earcups.
