If you're like me and hadn't really listened to something approaching audiophile grade headphones, you don't know what you're missing. Mostly because you just haven't heard it yet.
A DAC/AMP is necessary for PC users like myself. These headphones made all the distortion and interference very apparent, particularly in the bass.
The DAC's in iphones and macbooks seem plenty good, but an AMP will still make a solid difference.
Love my HD58x. I Can't compare them to many other headphones, but they're substantially clearer than the Sony MDR7506. Despite having less bass, they're more rich and full sounding than DT990 PRO's, and sound better over all than M50x's.
Sound: 10/10 (for the price and what I've compared it to) Comfort: 9/10 (they can stay on my head all day no problem, but I wish they clamped less) Styling: 6/10 (I'd spend the money on sound an comfort first any day, looks could just be a bit better. I wouldn't doc a star unless they were a special kind of ugly)
