For the price point, I think they are awesome. I also have the HD 6xx. I like those more, but the differences are subtle, and these are cheaper. If I only had one, for versatility, I would choose these since you can drive them from your phone or laptop.
I pretty much use the HD 6xx for listening to music through my amp setup and my HD 58x for watching tv through the roku remote wirelessly. Is it overkill? Probably, but it's much nicer than ear buds or closed back headphones for movies.
KpmajkaMy LG V30 can drive my 6xx's, but most folks don't buy a phone based on sound. They do sound better amped, but in a pinch they're fine from my phone. I will say I thought I'd never own an LG phone until this one, and I'm really happy with it.
One thing I'm certain about, as manufacturers are alienating their user base by eliminating the headphone jack, forcing folks to put tiny microwave ovens (ever notice how Bluetooth/Wi-Fi drop out when the microwave is on?) next to our brains, more folks are going take look at LG. You won't be disappointed. There's a pretty solid consensus that the V30 was the fourth best phone of last year. Ok, no medal, but still an honorable position. Of those with a headphone jack, it's a silver.
