Absolute best headphones I've ever used
I have no idea why I waited so long for these because these are the absolute best headphones I've ever used. Open back is absolutely unreal.
I'll start off with comfort. Out of the box, I found them to be extremely uncomfortable. My head is pretty tall with a medium/large width. Don't let this bother you though because after a little bit of use, they became some of the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn. I did also place them on a soccer ball overnight, and noticed no difference in sound signature by doing so.
That will lead me into sound quality and let me say, these are the absolute best sounding headphones I've ever used. I'm using them mainly for content creation/gaming as well as some occasional music. Open back for gaming is an absolute dream and I can't believe what I've been missing out on for all these years.
My first game I tested them in was Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017). The first thing I did was go into the settings, and change the dynamic range to wide and WOW! I literally had the chills playing this game. Based on sound alone, these made me feel like I was standing in the middle of a battlefield. Explosions/bass were punchy without being muddy and overbearing. Blaster shots, light saber hums, voices/dialogue, in game music, was all the best I've ever heard from Star Wars. I even had a few moments where I took my headphones off because I thought I heard something in the real world, but the soundstage is just so "real" sounding on these headphones that it completely fooled me into thinking so.
I did also test these with a more competitive game in Rainbow Six: Siege, as that game has some of the most unique sound design. I had no issues picking up foot steps and other sound ques leading to an eventual kill. The gun shots were also powerful yet clean in sound. Overall, worked great and sounded amazing for my slightly above average gameplay.
Rocket League was also way more playable in these than my previous pair of Arctis 5 gaming headsets. That game has some terrible sound design (lucky it's getting an overhaul soon) but I did notice much less error in the sound ques, as the sounds don't "blend" together nearly as much in these headphones.
Overall, I cannot stress enough how good these are for gaming and consuming content. It makes me really want to go back and rewatch some of the Avengers/Star Wars movies just so I can experience it with this level of sound.
Would recommend to a friend.
