I love them.
Neutral sound that has worked well for me in FPS games. I'm on my second pair.

Really comfortable, sound great
I've had these for a little over a year working from home, and they've been great. I'm typically wearing them for several hours most days listening to music, and and I rarely feel any fatigue or discomfort. I suspect it's the open-back design that keep my ears from getting too hot, and the included fabric cups haven't gotten torn to shreds by any facial hair stubble the way some of my older sets have. They're also really lightweight, with a relatively strong clamping force that seems to take some pressure off the top of my head. I think that even though they're a little more snug than I was used to before, the large surface area of the pads distributes the force nicely. About a month ago there was a bit of a rattle on one side when listening through my guitar amp's headphone output. I opened up the enclosure to investigate (which was easy and didn't involve a screwdriver or anything, thanks YouTubers), but I couldn't find any hair or debris in there. Once I put it back together, no more rattle. Maybe the grille had just gotten bumped out of alignment or something, causing some resonance. Can't say for sure, but all good now. I'm only a budding audiophile, but so far I think these have been a great introductory set for that world. They sound even better hooked up to my audio interface* for monitoring (I'm guessing whatever's in there is the highest quality DAC I have), but the low impedance has made them easy to use with anything I want to play through them. *For reference, my interface is an M-Audio Air 192 14. Julian Krause over on YouTube gives these headphones a quick positive mention regarding how they interacted with the Air 192 4 interface he reviewed. Also, if you're a recording noob like me struggling to wrap your head around that stuff, his channel is fantastic.

Excellent headphones
I use these almost everyday at work. The 58x is probably my favorite all around headphone for music and I dust off some planar's or beyers once it a while depending on the music. For gaming I tend to prefer the 58x (or now the pc38x) because the mid forward sound is more balanced than some of the V shaped sound that other headphones use. In competitive fps games I don't want my ears blown out with explosions from too much bass, or ringing ears from the crack of gun fire from crazy amounts of treble. I want to hear everything that's going on and not get overwhelmed with certain parts of the sound and I find the 58x works well for that. I find that with my beyerdynamic tygr's for example that they're very lively... but you have to eq the crap out of them to avoid getting some of the mids from getting lost in the bass and treble. I know some people like a more V shape to their games and music but I'm not one of them. I like a fairly balanced sound and Sennheiser seems to fit what I like the best and the 58x is what works for me right now.

15 Month Mark -- Still great headphones, an even better deal now that the price has droppe
Bought these babies for use with my audient evo 4 (audio interface). Sound is great (I'm not great with a technical description here, but I listen to EDM and pop) and I have had no issues for the 15 months that I have had it. I live in hell (Texas), so I've had to remove the foam pads to wash. Removing and washing them is super easy and resulting in an almost new feeling product. Would highly recommend for that new $130 price tag.

A very well made and comfortable headset
I play many games and you can definitely hear the footsteps and gun fire clearly to know where the enemies are, also a really great headset for studio.
