Should I get theses or the 6xx and why? What are the pros and cons of both? It's my first audiophile headphones.

The HD 58X are probably the best value for money you can get. Also, if you don't have an amplifier yet, they will sound better straight out of your desktop PC or phone. The HD 6XX cost a third more and ship more quickly, and allow you to play around more with tube amps if you look forward to that sort of thing.

Which ones are better? Price is not an issue. I want to get the best option available.

6XX. Way bigger discount (since it's identical to the 650 vs 58X is unknown new driver which may be way cheaper to produce) and known sound signature that is highly acclaimed. Way less risk. Also you'll get it 3 months earlier than the 58X as well which should be a HUGE factor by itself imo. Also, if it turns out you prefer the 58X or it gets rave reviews over the 600/650 series you could probably get your hands on a used pair of the 58X pretty easy or a second run and sell the 6XX for a decent price still. From what I've read and seen in literature/reviews the 58X seems a little bit cleaner sounding but not as well balanced. Seems like it is closer to the newer 660 than the actual 580/600 family that it is supposed to be modeled after since it uses a new driver design that has similar specs.

This ISNT my first foray into Sennheiser BUT it IS my first set of audiophile quality products from Sennheiser and Shciit. I got the 6xx headphones with a schiit magni 3 amp and I love both products. It's a great entry level rig and I listen to my headphones every day.

This is all new to me. Which amp should I get to power the 6xx and the 58x.Some kind of universal amp that works with everything. I am willing to pay up to 150$. I prefer a Amp/dac all in one. Also should I get a dac or is it not necessary??
