Is this any good for audio production or is this aimed at music playback?
music playback, but honestly its good enough that you could use it for production purposes, studio monitoring speakers are better for audio production than any studio monitoring headphones anyway.
The headphones aren't as flat as one would look for in mixing headphones but they do have a good level of detail. Also I'm still on the fence about the bass changes.
Same to be honest, i liked that it had less bass and was brighter than the hd650 now its darker with more bass? i haven't recieved mine yet but im still interested to see how it sounds.
Dynamics is what im most interest in, i like tight
Controlled bass hopefully these headphones improves the woolly bass issue the hd650 has.
yes, of course good monitors are usually better for headphones.
I am looking for something for video production that needs to be accurate.
Yet I don't really have any control except volume for my video and audio recorders.
Right now I have the Sennheiser 280s - about 10 years old and the pads are falling apart.
Hd600 are pretty neutral but lack bass extention, you might as well get these as its not breaking the bank.
280s have nothing on senns higher range.
