I'll preface this by saying that although I care about audio quality, I'm not an audiophile and don't have the same depth of references as others on here. Previously, I've used Sony MDR-10's, Beats Wireless 2 (they were free!), and B&W PX's.
These headphones are fantastic. The bass has a pleasant weight that doesn't drown out other detail, and I find the sound very comfy to listen to. Listening to RED, the electric/pop production have the right punch and sparkle, but the acoustic instruments sound appropriately real, whereas on the Sony's and Beats I couldn't distinguish them from samples. The B&W's had a similar detail, but the pop-ier side of the album was really boring. Grimes / Daft Punk / Sufjan Stevens / Charlie XCX all sound great too.
The build is uninspiring, but considering they're open-backed "sit down and listen" headphones I'm not sure that I care. They're comfy and seem solid (I don't mind the plastic at this pricepoint).
I have mostly mainstream music tastes, but so far these haven't disappointed me with anything in my library.
