Performs as expected. Even though I have moved on from the HD650. There is no doubt the 600 series is the well earned reputable iconic headphones they are known for. Any 600 series Sennheiser can easily be an end game purchase for the casual and serious audiophile. The HD58X is no exception. The first impression is it does follow a darker signature that this series are known for yet, it displays exceptional accuracy and natural frequency response. The bass is well pronounced when required. These image very well. The only complaint might be that they do look kind of ugly and cheap. However not in a way that is not commensurate with the price. It is difficult to get this level of performance at this price. The cost cutting is in the areas that does not affect performance making these a good buy. If someone is curious about making a jump to audiophile performance without deep pockets, this is the way to go.
