Hi, i am from the EU and as i can see, the 58X is also made in the EU (ireland).
Is there any way to get them from Ireland instead of the US? There would be no tax import fees and it would be quicker as well.
I saw people asking this questions before and it was a no. Unless they changed something.
I'm fairly certain that while they are manufactured in Ireland, the stock is then sent to the US and ships from there. More specifically New Jersey. I don't know if it's possible to order these direct from the plant.
That sucks :(
I know Massdrop said that international logistics are top priority in relation to keycaps made in DE being shipped to europe after being stocked in the US. Mr. Keycapman himself posted that on a 2016 comment about MD & EU.
Not sure if it applies to Senn headphones as well.
Thanks for the help.
Yeah sorry man I don't know what else to say.
Any idea of how much would it be of taxes?
In my country (czech republic) vat is 21%, assuming the customs are low like 1-3%, $200 in total +2-3 weeks of waiting time
I just paid the customs bill for the UK. I paid £131.48 for the headphones, then customs at Heathrow stung me for an extra £31.83 (£23.33 in Import VAT, and £8.50 Customs Entry fee - Ah, y’know, the money they take to take the time to take more money off you...) anyway, said would be delivered within 2-3 working days after payment... Paid Sunday, still no ‘on the way’ notification... somebody probably didn’t pay the guy who takes money for making sure the customs entry money you got shafted for has been paid to release the goods... am expecting such an email anytime soon!!! lol!!!
Hi again, don't you know if MD US shipping is free or not and how long it usually takes? I was thinking about buying through somebody (who'd buy it and then send to me)
The shipping was free and it took around a week to arrive. 6-7 days.
So, now i got them ordered from Dutch guy who said he paid 185 euros with taxes.
Got them for 180 already on the way.
Thanks, a friend ordered them to Ireland, I'll see what happens. For the moment I can get entertained looking for the best portable dac amp for the headphones.
FiiO Q1 for smol or Q5 for THICC
Uh, thank you! I just researched a bit about the Q1 and looks quite interesting, the Q5 is just too much for now.
Hi, I will be very grateful if you could give me an update of how much taxes charges are in Ireland (custom + Anpost fee) for this product. Thanks a lot in advance.!
I'm so sorry, didn't log in for a long time until now, I threw away the paper sheets but it was the original price plus 40 ish (no more than 45, no less than 35) Euro of VAT and a "special handling". After having used them for a long time they are worth it but my cheap side still thinks that I could have searched for options inside Ireland.
Thanks a lot for your reply. I don't think that you should regret the purchase, the price paid is quite good for headphones of this quality. If you wanted the Sennheiser profile, Massdrop is the place to get them, quite cheaper than anywhere else. Indeed there are other open-back headphones of similar quality but you can hardly find them for less than €150 (the only exceptions being Beyerdynamic DT 990 or Grado Sr-80e, but the sound profile is different). Just in case you are interested in getting any other electronic devices, I found two websites with excellent prices and fast and free delivery.
Thanks! I actually got my Fiio Q1 at Hifi Hut but besides that my wallet doesn´t allow me to continue exploring with more devices. You are right the quality is amazing on this Sennheiser headphones.
Yes mate they arrived about 12-14 days after purchase, but customs stung me as well as held my item for too long... I also ordered the hifiman he4xx through the EU program and that was painless, arrived within 5 days and no customs detainment! Both are great, but prefer the 4xx, especially as now they are nearly the same price!
oh cool so in customs did you go to collect from the post office or did you pay online so they could deliver it straight to you
Paid online then they held for about 2-3 days, then delivered by dpd if I remember correctly? They charge you VAT plus a customs fee, to hold your item (against your will) and you have no option but to pay it. If they ship via Royal Mail there is no holding charge and you can go to post office, it all depends on who they use at final delivery on how much you may be liable for. Hope that helps!
Also be aware that I just bought the AD900x for £85 all in, and they still charged me £23.12 VAT, which I thought the threshold was £120-£130... they will most probably charge on the value of the item in the UK, not the US
yeah i dont mind about the cost im just hoping i can get it thanks for the reassurance
Fiio Q1 but my phone (redmi 3 pro) and computer drive the headphones quite well with no need of the amp, I would recommend you to wait until you have your headphones and then try them to see if you need an amp or not.
