Which headphones of Drop's currently available?
I have some rewards points to burn but there's no obviously good options on Drop right now for headphones Contenders Ultrasone - maybe? I don't own any Ultrasones, so curious. Looks like garbage travel headphone which could be useful also. Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro. - Maybe? I have the DT 880 Good price point, really uncomfortable headphones but could be interesting to try the upgraded version. E-MU - strong contender but $400 is a bad price point for what it is. Which of the above would you choose and why? Nothing else on Drop is relevant to my interests, because Already own 6xx 820 800 s Ether cx Garbage / Consumer grade Meze 99 - garbage bass canons, hard pass No gaming headphones obviously Sennheiser wireless - no to wireless/bluetooth Hifiman - I have 2 of drop hifimans and they make really bad cheap shit on Drop, hard pass on HE-R7DX Aeon - I own the closed, Drop refuses to address #padgate so no reason to buy open Beyerdynamic 177x - wireless, nope Too similar 8x / 560s...

On to the matter at hand, that's one beefy amp. These speaker amps that can also work well as headphone amps are a rare thing these days. Most are either not clean enough for headphones or, if they even have a headphone out, don't even output their full power to it. The only way you can get most speaker amps to work with headphones is by making a custom banana plug to 6.35" jack cable or buy a converter box, but even these aren't perfect. The custom ones need a lot of caution to not mess things up and the converter boxes are expensive AF. Maybe I'll look into that butt ugly mofo of an amp (let's face it, it's oogly :P) one day, but for now I need a proper headphone amp and DAC that I can comfortably fit on my desk. You know, a basic good setup. After that, I'll wait for money to come my way and it's off to the races. Fostex t60rp, especially if ModHouse has a modded version by then, and a beefier amp are first on my list of stupid buys. Then I can go truly crazy.
PS : Please don't plug the MSR7 into that thing. You'll probably go deaf the moment you move the volume knob!
