Just got my 58X today. Tried it with my LG G7 and my NFB 11.28 TXCO. I'm liking it so far. Should complement my modded m1060 and modded T50rp nicely. Soundstage is not as wide as the m1060 but the 58X images a tad better. Just the right amount of bass, mids, and highs for me. Vocals aren't as crisp as the m1060 but it does not make certain female recordings sound raspy like the m1060s do. Waaaay more comfortable then the m1060 and T50rp. I sure hope the sound is different enough compare to my incoming 6XX to warrant keeping both. Overall, I'm pretty happy with my 58x and hopefully the incoming 6XX . It was either these two headphones or a sony wh-1000xm3 for the same price. I think I made the right decision. Already have a KZ AS10 IEM for isolation and portable use.

Wow! It's pretty tough. They both definitely sound very similar but different enough to warrant keeping both. The 6XX does indeed have this layer that makes it less exciting compared to the 58X but at the same time it is also a tad more natural sounding and relaxing. For whatever reason it is also more resolving even though the 58x sounds more clear. In longer listening I think the 6XX will be less fatiguing. Voices sound more natural and string instrument have a more fuller sound on the 6xx even the though bass on the 58x hits harder. If that even makes since. Between the two, the 6XX definitely reacts favorably to amping. I can totally see why people like the 6xx with tube amps. On my NFB 11.28 between the low and high gain. The low gain usually gives a warm sound and the high gain a more neutral airier sound. The 6XX sounds noticing better on the low gain to my ear with my amp which I lead me to believe it will sound good with a tube amp like everyone keeps mentioning. The 58x on the other hand kind of sound the same one both settings. Hence it probably doesn't scale as well. While I like the 58x more since it's good with most genre and are more exciting, I also like the 6xx a lot for the reasons above. I will be keeping the 6xx.
