Coming from the Hyper X Cloud Alphas, would these be a good upgrade for music/gaming?

They are open backs, so they will definitely have a different kind of sound than your alphas. I would probably see them more as a supplement to them rather than a straight upgrade.
I'm getting them as a supplement my m40x's, which in my experience sound pretty similar to the Cloud Alphas. I haven't received them yet, though. Since I'm not really expecting the Jubilees to be particularly optimal for portable usage I'm probably going to keep the m40x's for public usage and reserve the Jubilees for home usage.
In relation to the sound, the few comments i could find from people with m40x's, m50x's and Cloud 2's, all somewhat similar in sound and use case to the Alphas, were pretty impressed by the sound of the Jubilees, though I remember one person who was disappointed that the upgrade from their m50x's didn't feel substantial enough. They definitely should represent a step up in clarity and resolution, probably in imaging as well, but asides from that, i think most differences relate to differing purposes of open backs and closed backs. I've read quite a few comments from people stating that the imaging they provide is pretty nuts in games.
Guess I'll only know for sure when I receive them though. Really looking forward to hearing how they perform for myself.
