I was on the fence between these, the 6XX, and the 4XX... Went with these since I predominantly listed to rock/metal. These most certainly do not disappoint. Until I build a new computer I'm just using these with my Fiio E17K Alpen 2. This is actually a great combo. The E17K is a fantastic portable DAC/Amp and powers these with ease. But on to the headphones. Build quality is what you expect from Sennheiser. They are very comfortable. Eventual I'll experiment with some different pads, but the ones that come with the sound is astonishing. These are worn for many long listening sessions with out a trace of fatigue or discomfort. Eventually I may try to filter removal mod to see what they sound like. I know the soundstage will open up a bit but they have a great soundstage now, though not a monstrous one, like my Beyer DT990 Pro's have. the DT990's are good for string, classical, and like Enya type stuff... The 58X's are good for anything you throw at them, but with a little more bass slam due to the filters then excel and all things rock/metal. For this price why haven't you bought them yet?
