Hi all, I'm looking at HE4XX and HD58X, now I have ATH m30x connected to Fiio K3. Would HE4XX and HD58X be an upgrade form my ATH m30x and is Kiio K3 enough to drive HE4XX and HD58X? What would you recomend between HE4XX and HD58X? Thanks :)

ivanmHi, I have the Hifiman 4xx, they are power hungry. The Fiio K3 provides 120-200 mW at 32 Ohm which sounds to me a little bit limited to drive them, unless your player has a line-out. I have the SMSL sap II, which provides almost 1000mW and it is just OK when using my player with the headphones out. I don´t have the 58xs but according to all the reviews they are easier to drive. In my opinion, the 4xxs are much better headphones than the ATH, they will definitely be an upgrade from them. And I´m pretty sure that the 58x would also be. Kind regards.

ivanmHi ! I dont own he4xx but read lots of reviews. He 4xx : V shaped FR, large soundstage, good separation of instruments, but more laid back vocals hd58x : excellent on voices, quite neutral FR with very slight bass hump, narrow soundstage, good positionning, decent séparation. I would summarize this way :
  • he4xx for fun, good on rock EDM
  • hd58x for everyday use on different gears
juste my opinion, yours may vary
