The sound is amazing and the imaging is amazing as well. However I personally think that the earpads feel like rocks. When you do a side by side comparison of the Philips shp9500's and the Jubilee's there's an astonishing difference in comfort. The shp9500's have a super soft squishy earpad with a nice smooth fabrik on them. The Jubilee's however have hard foam almost like styrofoam if I say so. After a while of wearing the headphones my ears and the surrounding parts as well become uncomfortable due to the strong clamp. The shp9500's have virtually no clamp so it feels as if an angel is softly fondling your ears. All in all these are great headphones but they skimped out on some aspects to bring down the price, for example the sad excuse for the earpads. So I am 100% buying third party velour earpads from dekoni, they might be expensive but are a major upgrade from the current earpads.

W0terMoistTotally agree WOTerMoist. i have only had my H58X a week as I bought the Hifiman H4XX at the same time and if the Sennheisers had the same velour pads as on my old HD595 I would of been ecstatic. sound I cannot complain about but I still think the Hifiman Planars Sound better even though neither are remotely ran in yet after a week. by the way which replacement pads did you buy as I feel the same as yourself and want to replace the pads? im also wondering if the 6XX has the same issue with the pads as I’m thinking of buying a pair.

W0terMoistThe pads on the 6XX is even harder but yeah, both are uncomfortable. I find the china earpads to be infinitely more comfortable plus they cost like $5-10 a pair. They even have hybrids now, along with angled, velour, etc. Oh and I bought a cheap velour one for the HD600/650, the non tape one, just for the plastic that clicks in place and tore off the velour pads. Then you can fit any HM5 pads on the 58X/6XX.

W0terMoistI also have the Philips shp9500's  Are these headphones worth the upgrade over the Philips headphones? Do they sound the same or is there a noticeable difference?

GungnirCompletely different league. The SHP9500 are nowhere near as enjoyable to listen to. I also find the lack of clamp on the SHP9500 annoying though. If you lean forward or to the side they can slip off. To each their own.

adtrisnoWhere did you get those china pads? Are they wider than stock?

GungnirShort answer for if you want to buy them is yes. They are worth the upgrade. They are much louder, clear, and have better imaging. The only down side are the pads. So personally you should buy them and buy some 3rd party pads. You can find some cheap pads or buy some dekoni pads, the dekoni pads are more expensive but they come in different styles and are very comfortable l

RutgersbabyYeah same. Because there is no clamp on the 9500's they fall off very easily but if you are just using them for gaming or being on the computer then they are good. If you do not want to realize that you are wearing headphones then the shp9500's are where it's at. But at the same time the Jubilee's are much better in sound quality and imaging, so they are much better for competitive gaming. So if you aren't a competitive gamer then the shp9500's are great but if you are competitive then the Jubilee's are better. Also the Jubilee's are much better when listening to music. So if you love music and gaming (like myself) then get the Jubilee's. You can always buy another headphone down the road like the shp9500's if you find the Jubilee's too uncomfortable for prolonged use. So when I'm playing a game like skyrim I'll wear the shp9500's because they are comfortable and when I'm playing games like siege, COD, csgo, exa then I'll wear the Jubilee's.

LiampantoShopee, an Indonesian online store, but they're all over AliExpress and Amazon. I bought these and removed the pads to get the clips,

then bought these and inserted the clips but any Brainwavz HM5 pads will do,

The pads are roughly the same size and shape...

adtrisnoThanks. Do those new pads change the sound?

LiampantoReally small difference in sound. Very slight increase in bass. The pads have a linen screen, so if you left the foam on the inside it would be linen + foam. I removed the foam for a bit of a harsher sound but a more direct sound. Leaving the foam in made it a bit muffled. You can always cut away the screen and use the foam to achieve almost stock sound. The pads themselves are almost the same sounding as stock to me...

TheNeiloVenture Electronics - www.veclan.com for the cables. Comes in all sorts of custom colors. I think Massdrop had them in some special color a while back. They're just so-so though. The plugs to the headphones are way too long, about 5 cm, before it's flexible. I have a big head and I didn't notice at first so it's fine but on someone with a smaller head, it would hit their shoulder. Also it won't fit properly on most stands. The XLR plug is YongSheng which is again, so-so. They should be using Neutrik connectors at this price. I do like the look though...
