It’s good not for me, lacks high end and solid bass. It’s an extremely mediocre headphone does every job “pretty well” nothing extraordinary going on here at all. Returned.

Khronusthese are meant to be easily driven--or at least that is a stated selling factor and goal, but his review is correct.

UzuzuFelt like it was unnecessary to even reply to him lol thank you for understanding that the mirage of ads I had seen for this all stated for a fact this would drive well on any computer or even phones no DAC or amp needed... was dissatisfied. Audio is all preference and personal choice, I wasn’t feeling this

WilliamxAdamsSenns are super over hyped. I use to be starry eyed for them, until I spent time with other headphones. In the end I couldn't go back, they are just missing some layer of top and lower detail that makes music so much more enjoyable, to me. Hence why I like select ATH models, and why I absolutely LOVE beyerdynamic. I've used dozens of headphones over all sorts of prices and ranges, including more expensive ones, but I always use a dt 880.

UzuzuI’ve been in the market for a pair of Beyerdynamic and I have heard fun things about the bass in the 880? Is it hard to drive!?

WilliamxAdamsthe 880 is pretty neutral, a bit bright leaning. I really enjoy headphones that are slightly bright and I hate darker headphones though so I might be biased, but the 880 is one of those three legendary headphones before this hobby went mainstream, which were the akg k702/hd600/Beyer880. They aren't amp picky and sound good with a neutral or colored amp. They make 32/250/600 ohm pairs. The bass is super neutral and ever so slightly loose, the mids are ever so slightly recessed (but do not sound distant), and they are slightly bright, that's how most people would describe them. Those problems are less noticeable on the different variants, I own a 600 ohm because I have a very powerful amp, and I don't get high fatigued and the mids are at a good place for me. A lot of people think they sound boring and a lot like them for their very neutral approach. They sound slightly more stereo than fully 3d too, a lot of newer headphones have better soundstage. I still think they do a lot right and they're my favorite classic. If you have the money though the DT 1990 and the Amiron Home are both better headphones, but at roughly 3x the cost. The 1990 just beats the 880 in resolution, soundstage, and detail, so does the Amiron but it is fairly warmer than both (amazing can though and I own a set).

UzuzuI mean, 150 ohms is on the borderline of being able to be driven by portables. On the other hand, even KSC 75s can strife very well against these, so... At $150, I would have just gotten SHP9500s with an adapter and Shure pads, even if I am a mids-head, these are.... eh. More for Sennheiser-heads.

UzuzuAlso, for $500 I would simply just go Electrostatic and buy an ESP-95X, since they should even hold their own against HD800Ss (Well driven they are like an even more intimate, more forgiving SR-007a!) Either that, or buy a $350 Thie Audio Phamtom and mod it into next Fostex with the remaining money.

KhronusThose electrostats do sound good, but I am a dynamic guy through and through. Literally sdac/d10 w/ atom and an 880 does me good and I've tried so much more. I'm also kind of a mid-fi guy as I've tried so much other gear but just decided to "enjoy" the music.
