I have a Samson GoMic and a pair of Sony MDR-V6 headphones, would this be much of an upgrade? Seems like the mic would probably be a bit of a downgrade whereas the cans themselves should be better, especially soundstage/imaging wise?

Having used my v6 with a modmic, I'd have to say the soundstage was very limiting although I love the cans (two sets tucked away). I play CSGO if that helps and I'm just a gear whore so I'm about to join this drop. I bought the Sennheiser 350 SE and just tried them out last night, I was disappointed but didn't give them a solid chance. My primary setup now is the AKG K7XX with modmic 4.0 mated with a Sound Blaster Z.

I also play CSGO, and I've noticed the V6 will give me pretty decent info about where people are, but if there are multiple enemies it's hard to tell their footsteps/positions apart with much detail. Been looking for a nice pair of open-back cans like these, but if the mic isn't going to be an upgrade I can probably save some bucks.

I'd put the 120 towards a set of open back cans. I just realized the mic you're using is a condenser and I'm assuming it's pretty solid quality. My problem is I use voice activity on mumble and discord, it allows me to make calls faster and stay in the action.
