DoonutmasterThese headphones do not have 7.1 surround sound unfortunately. You could make do using software to make stereo headphones sound like they have surround sound capabilities.

DoonutmasterThey are stereo headphones. Most gaming headsets that say they have 7.1 surround sound are actually stereo headphones that use software to virtually recreate surround sound anyway. So realistically, there's minimal difference between these and a surround sound headset. Also, from my understanding, stereo sound in games now is so good you will be able to get directional cues without surround sound. However, I'm fairly certain Windows has virtual surround sound in built that should work with these (https://www.pcworld.com/article/3190674/windows/how-to-enable-windows-sonic-virtual-surround-sound-in-the-windows-10-creators-update.html). You could also use Dolby Atmos but this costs money I'm pretty sure. Alternatively you can buy an DAC/AMP such as the Sennheiser GSX 1000 to add surround sound in and be able to use it with any wired headset (https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-1000-Gaming-Audio-Amplifier/dp/B01LDTP484). There are better for cheaper DAC/Amps out there but this is one that is particularly praised for its 7.1 surround sound.

Lachie182PC 37x with gsx 1000 here and it sounds really nice but not true 7.1. You can hear footsteps more accurately giving you an edge. But the most impressive with the gsx is it gives you the impression you're listening to speakers in a big room or that the sound is all around you instead of in between your ears.

SILVERPOINTYYeah, that's what I meant. Still Virtual Surround 7.1 with an Amp/DAC as you need multiple speakers/drivers for true 7.1. Below is stuff referring to GSX 1000 + PC37X. Also confirming that the GSX 1000 plus the PC37X is an incredible experience. Multiple times I have taken my headphones off thinking my speakers were playing only to realise that the sound was coming from my headphones. Additionally, I was playing The Division with this setup and had an NPC talking to me from a stall as I ran around. Legitimately freaked out and thought someone was in the room with me. Only advice if using this setup is to make sure the Spatial Sound setting in Windows is Off (i.e. no Windows Sonic or Dolby Atmos) as it messes with the audio. I think the Quick setup guide for the GSX 1000 says to have it on but from my experience and other opinions on forums (have a Google), it definitely weakens the surround experience from the GSX 1000 as it results in the audio only being outputted in Stereo. Also make sure you are choosing "Speakers (GSX 1000 Main Audio)" as the playback device on Windows (not the Headset option) and that it is configured as 7.1 surround speakers with the Full range speakers plus all the optional speakers. You won't get the full 7.1 surround sound experience from the GSX 1000 otherwise (see the pages 6 - 9 of the Instruction Manual for how to set up: https://assets.sennheiser.com/global-downloads/file/7678/GSX1000_UserGuide_A03_1017_SP19_version1_INT.pdf). My GSX 1000 settings for Gaming with the PC 37X for those interested: Esport Equalizer (cross-hairs), Balanced sound volume (no arrows on rectangle circle person thing), 7.1 surround audio, No sidetone/mic feedback (you can hear yourself with these open back headphones anyway), and 1 plus symbol on the environment/reverb/squiggly line thing.

DoonutmasterFor me, 5.1 surround didn't work at all, honestly really disappointed cause other than that, these headphones are perfect but damn now I'm looking for a headset that does support 5.1. I tested this with my sound blaster omni sound card in case you were wondering.
