I have an old Asus Xonar DG sound card, is it worth putting it in my case with these headphones? Is there gonna be any appreciable difference from onboard mobo audio? I'm not likely to add an amp or anything either way.

hivnomI know this comment is 2 weeks old now, but I can answer this! Yes, it's worth putting it in the PC for use with these headphones. The card has better sound quality to it, even over the latest ALC1220 chips being used in new motherboards. I know this for sure, as I have ALC1220 on my Mobo - and I exclusively use the sound card instead. Also, the Xonar DG has built in headphone amp which can be used with these headphones. You *WILL* notice a difference in sound quality!!

hivnomMake sure to install the drivers, select headphone, and then set the amp to Pro mode in the software. You may have the software bug where it doesn't get very loud. Switch to speakers, re-check volume levels, switch back to headphones. Should be good to go with full volume levels.
