ABS with standard cherry profiles? DSA I can understand, but I don't understand how this can be so expensive. I can't justify myself buying this. Someone sell me on this.

WanzerRX-79Honestly i was thinking it would be cheaper as well. Since it is in cherry profile and not DSA like i wanted, i cant imagine spending so much on the set. Doesnt seem worth it.

WanzerRX-79Literally GMK.
1. The thickness is incredible, there are no other abs caps like this. These will last forever. 2. Doubleshot, also, see 1. 3. GMK. Don't like it? Sell it in the aftermarket and recoup your $ - or make a profit, depending on demand. 4. OG Cherry Profile (molds) 5. Holy fuckballs this colorway is sick. 6. Icon modifiers.

WanzerRX-79They're very high quality, and have more of a gritty feel to them than SP's ABS. It's a little expensive yeah, but GMK blows SP out of the water (in my opinion) when it comes to ABS keycaps. After trying GMK caps, the only time I'll buy sets from SP anymore is when they're in SA profile.

shadowkreepGMK sets are always expensive cause of their high quality plastic used, plus they use the same molding machines that cherry uses. This is actually really cheap for a GMK set. Other sites sell GMK sets for aroun 180+.

WanzerRX-79Cherry profile might be the most ergonomic one among all, which is accountable for the higher price. Personally I never found DSA attractive.

WanzerRX-79I've had all three of the major SP profiles (SA, DSA, DCS), and I prefer GMK to all of these by a pretty wide margin. Not to reiterate what the other guy said, but they have a few things going for them. 1) they're thick, high quality, doubleshot keycaps. This can be said of SA and DSA caps, but there are other differences. 2) they're Cherry Profile. This is one of those things that you may hate. However, I find that low-profile, sculpted, cylindrical keycaps are incredibly comfortable to type on, and they have a great feature of guiding your fingers up and down rows, whereas spherical caps, like SA and DSA, do not. Overall, pretty good here as well. 3) They'll get here probably around late October or early November. Take a look over at SA Godspeed. Those damn caps are probably not going to ship for another couple of months due to SP's backlog of SA production. The backlog for DSA is not nearly as long, but I've been part of a few different drops for DSA caps and none of them have been on time either. GMK knows what their production line can do, and they know when things will probably ship. 4) As far as ABS goes, there was never any chance it was going to be anything else, regardless of who made it. There is a Chinese company who appears to be able to dye sub around legends, but beyond that nobody can make double shot PBT caps aside from Tai Hao and Vortex (Not sure if Vortex just uses Tai Hao's caps or what's going on there), and neither Tai Hao or Vortex have a reputation for really high-quality caps. GMK does, and it is well deserved. They make such great caps that I tried one set I bought in an impulse buy (GMK Hyperfuse, yes, I am irresponsible with my money, buying a $180 set on impulse) on a board I never use and since then all I'll consider putting on my main boards is GMK sets. So, there's an endorsement for you. I used to be all DSA all the time, now I cringe whenever I have to use my one main board with DSA caps.

WanzerRX-79If you've never owned a GMK set you wouldn't understand. They're kind of the Maybach of key caps. People get hung up on ABS vs PBT as though ABS is some kind of "bottom tier" in the key cap world, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Material thickness, mold shape, and surface finish are far more significant to the typing experience than the actual polymer composition. PBT has drawbacks too. But I'm not here to sell you anything. Do whatever you want.

StarPupilSpherical profiles are cute to look at, but are poor to type on. And these from SA are usualy thinner, especially that ridiculous DCS. Guess I will stay away from SA once getting Carbon.
