So why a 5-Star rating?
Well, the day after receiving a blue one (perfectly wonderful, in every way - design, materials, execution, and typical terrific Massdrop service), I decided to order a black one as well.
Not neccessarily my smartest purchasing decision ever, but very much a wise one - this is truly a superb knife!
Enjoy!
Doug3737I'm considering ordering another one as well. One to use daily and one for the collection. Am I crazy? I feel slightly crazy for doing this but I just love this knife!
Gunnersmate2IMO, crazy NOT to order another one if you like it that much 😎!
I’ve been collecting knives for decades, and this has quickly become one of my absolute favourites - for both using and just enjoying playing with!
Have fun with # 2 - my second one should arrive next week!
Gunnersmate2Not blue like an amazing and flawless RIKE anodized blue, but blue like an old and friendly and pocket-worn blue. Not a ”perfect” finish, but somehow better than a flawlessly even one. I just love it ...
I have carried this knife wearing a very expensive navy blue suit, and with very well-worn jeans.
It works with both!
Gunnersmate2Dunno if you've bought your second already Gunner, but the bronze comes with a hand rubbed satin finish blade like your grey. Typically, Reate upcharges for hand-satin at around $15. Worth considering!
Gunnersmate2What in the world were you prattling on about, "am I crazy buying two of the same knife?" You wouldn't have been crazy to buy two that were EXACTLY the same, let lone a different model type, if you love it that much. Of course, I'm a little biased; there are many knives I love that much. Like, um, these, for instance:

...and there are others, to be sure. These were just out and about for regular cleaning/maintenance.
But I what I really wanted to discuss: which Prism model ought I to get if I currently own none right now? Stick with the classic black? I usually prefer shiny blades, the shinier the better, but I like the subdued blue frame on the stonewashed blade model; I don't really like the bronze body (you can't see the Barucha logo well enough), and the grey body looks a bit plain compared to the others. My usual dilemma, any thoughts are appreciated.
HatuletohPersonally, if there was a blue handle with satin blade, that'd be the easy choice. Though if you want to see the logo, the blue isn't great with that either. The stonewashing really darkens the anondizing. As it is, I really can't say. As I mentioned earlier, Reate charges an extra $15 for hand satin finished blades on their Baby Machine and Starboy models so that's worth considering. But if you want the logo to pop, then grey or black is your best bet.
BknguyenI wish the blue handled knife had a satin blade. I went with the grey and once I get consistent results home anodizing titanium I will anodize it blue myself.
Gunnersmate2I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this one since the Para 3 exceeded my expectations and surpassed the ergonomics of the xm-18 3inch. How ergonomic IS THE TASHI PRISM? Like you I struggle getting the blue as I normally love a good stonewash finish and blue handle but something about that satin looks incredibly rich and really works with this knife. Have yet to see in person but which to choose?....The satin or the stonewash?
