gearofwar113What K1000? There is no headphone that requires 6000mw. That is speaker territory. Stax don't count since the technology is completely different.

Jimster480> it can power every headphone ...
Really?
> Stax don't count ...
Oh. I see.
So what you're saying is... it can power every headphone, except for the ones it can't :)

JaggiNo, what I am saying is that it can power every headphone that actually uses a headphone amplifier. Electrostatic's have their own amplifiers which are typically paired with the headphones themselves.

Jimster480lmao, you don't even know what K1000 is? such a shame if you don't even know this legendary hp in community, it's obviously you are newbie, newcomer of some sort. Do your own homework on google, K1000 needs atleast 4W to shine , not 1.5W

gearofwar113Those are earspeakers... idk why you seem to think that this amp couldn't power them... they tested the headphones with a CEntrance DACport lol....

Jimster480They are farting with anything less 4W , sure my HD800 can sound really good out of my iphone , it's not on low vol so it can power them too.

paulplanedinThe He6 needs 6 watts into 50 ohms. This can do 6 watts into 32 ohms.

paulplanedin With sensitivity of 83.5dB, the HE-6 must be paired with a headphone amplifier of comparable quality such as the HIFIMAN EF5 which delivers 2 watts per channel.
Amazing how the audiophile world is filled with people who can't even read specs from a mfg homepage haha

Jimster480So the EF6 can do 5 watts into 50 ohms. I have done some research and decided this is the sort of power I'd like to expose the HE6 to. Kind regards!

paulplanedinIt's still a ton of power for headphones. I don't think there's such a need for so much power unless you don't wish to keep your hearing :)

paulplanedinI use a Primare 30.1 - balanced 100W amp to drive the HE6 directly from the speaker posts 6 watts is not enough, sure they will make a sound but you will miss out on the full potential of the HE-6
