Now that the price went up, not enough stock and not shipping to Australia.... I am forced to consider the monoprice aaa amp. And it now appears to be a better option. It comes with balanced dac.

ridhuankimNow are you actually able to get the monoprice one to Aus for cheap. I tried to get one to NZ direct & they wanted like $155 shipping on top. Amazon is out of stock. So i ended up getting the NFB-1 since its better as a amp (for me, Monoprice has more options i'll never use including the dac). Ended up cheaper.
DamienRThat’s a fairly crazy shipping cost, but maybe shipping to AUS/NZ is generally high. You guys (and gals) have my sympathy. I would still choose the Monoprice THX (or Cavalli) over an Audio GD, and I keep all my audio gear for years and years so IMO getting what you really want is worth waiting for, but your mileage may vary (Kilometers?). Edit: Audio GD makes great sounding stuff, but a friend of mine had the Master 9 kill his vintage (irrepairable) multibit DAC. The Master 9 has an electrical short when you change inputs, and it blew the output on one of his DAC’s channels. AudioGD didn’t offer any help because the amp functioned as designed. Not all Audio GD gear shares this design (not QC) flaw, but if a $1400 amp has those kinds of design issues, I’m less inclined to risk my other investments connected to any of a company’s products. By comparison, my Cavalli Liquid Carbon (serial # 47 or something, way before the Massdrop versions) blew something inside the first time I connected an XLR balanced headphone. It didn’t hurt my other gear or my ears (headphones played a weird pulsing sine sweep at a low volume), and Cavalli took it in for free repair and had it back to me very quickly. It wasn’t a bad design or bad parts, but a soldering issue (Massdrop versions use a different factory for assembly), and Cavalli himself fixed mine by hand. If defects can happen to anyone, I really felt like Cavalli did everything to make things right.

DamienREbay has it. But I think I will not buy anything at this point. Will just enjoy what I have and sell those that I don't use until there is something that really attracts me.

EvshrugI think the NBF-1 is a cut down Master9 so that is kind of concerning, but it shouldnt be an issue since its a [balanced] headphone amp, people will just be using 1 input, 1 output & maybe preouts except reviewers. Also never seen a bad review or comment of a issue with it, other than how anoying it is to order haha. But yes i agree Massdrop & Monoprice thx is a better buy all around, especially if you need a Dac you can't beat the monorpice one currently. Edit & just for reference: Actually i just read a review that menchions something similar... Only if you use Input 4&5 by the looks of it Click here.
& How to solve the issue (if it is an issue for you) Click here. In my opinion you will find bad issues with almost any Audio gear so you can't let 1 in 1000 issues put you off everything. I can give you examples of minor to major issues i've personally experianced with MD LCX & its Sdac, Schiit Jot, Sennheiser GSX1000/12000. Also ones i havn't e.g: Monoprice THX aaa.
