What is the best way to sell this to someone else? I have a JDS Labs Atom and I am thinking that is probably good enough for me after all. I purchased during the last drop.

HifihedgehogI also would be interested, though I'm hesitant to enclose my email on a public forum (and TheDubah is first in line).

postwarscarsI am not 100% sure about the T&Cs on Drop for doing this; you could easily leave your Head-Fi username and get a PM over there, or use a burner e-mail for starters and get another line of communication with them. I can't say for sure about keeping the 789 over the atom as the consensus is it is very capable on SE, but 789 all the way if you're going for balanced output. OTOH I think there is something magical about the 789, hence why reviewer Zeos has hoarded 3 of them for his desk. I can see that from a reviewer standpoint, having a clean and un-coloured headphone amp allows one to easily distinguish sound characteristics betweens DACs which is incredible. The common agreement is the 789 punches its weight above other products in its price range, so for those that didn't get a 789, they can definitely invest a little more and be satisfied with their purchase decision.

HifihedgehogThanks. I am thinking of selling my account to the person who wants the device. There, you should be able to change the shipping address. $600 OBO. Keep in mind you will be receiving it unopened and sealed, NIB.

rawrusI mean, personally I don't have a head-fi account (I read more than interact). I also did realize this is someone who, as of yet, doesn't have the unit, which makes purchasing a bit murky. However, I also wanted to give TheDubah first crack for obvious reasons. Temp emails are easy enough to create, as you said.

Hifihedgehog$600 is out of my range. I'm mostly just curious of how it performs and dont need it as a daily driver so I can probably wait for any future drops. @postwarscars you can go ahead with the offer.

HifihedgehogTo anyone else interested, here is the email I am sending: Hello and thank you for your interest! I am emailing to extend you the offer of $600 or best offer for the Massdrop X THX AAA 789 Linear Amplifier. The easiest way to do this is to sell you my Massdrop account. Since I do not have any credit cards associated with the account, all we would need to do is (1) switch the shipping address to your own, and (2) switch the name and email of the account to your own, both of which are easily done. As soon as I receive payment to my PayPal email (***@yahoo.com), we can go ahead and proceed with this process. As interest is ravenously high for this product, please understand that I will have to move on to the next person if I do not hear from you within a few hours. I look forward to hearing back from you soon! Best regards, [REDACTED]/Hifihedgehog

Hifihedgehog$600 is, yes, fairly higher than I'd be willing to go (I had the chance to purchase this in the first drops and simply didn't, which I regret). Probably the max I'd be willing to offer is $500, which I still feel a bit uncomfortable with ($450 seems more realistic to me given it has already increased $50 from initial price). Though that said, with the demand, I understand the upcharge. If you are still interested let me know and I'll give you a contact email. If not, good luck on finding a buyer!

Hifi_hedgehogI followed two used sale in ebay Australia and both sold for over 1000 AUD this last week and they, I repeat, were used. Of course over there this item does not ship so I can see why people are willing to pay so much for it. 600USD it is a very resonable price for a brand new one without competing with 16000 people in getting one at the next drop. I purchased one also for the May shipping but there is not way I will let it go as 400usd they come and go but these AMPs seems really unique and damn well sounding. Kudos again for the reasonable price.

TheDubahThis isn’t such a terrible idea like I’ve never seen. First off, he can recover the account, or institute a PayPal charge back for the amp he paid for when he got the drop. You’re leaving yourself open to be scammed so hard it’s almost unbelievable.

JJayJJYeah I may have waited for the Amp to arrive and then have it posted to me. But again someone may also get the money and not send it. I always ask someone on such sales to make a listing in ebay and I will purchase via ebay with paypal so I will be covered if the item does not show up. Many don't want to pay the ebay fee and I offer to pay for it also.

HIFI778I was referring to TheDubah buying his Massdrop account in order to get the sale. I don't particularly understand what you had to do with it so I don't really know in what reference your post is discussing :\

JJayJJI've never scammed anyone. My reputation online speaks for itself. Just search my handle "Hifihedgehog". Plus, I can confirm that I can no longer recover the account. It is all in his name, address, email etc., and my email is no longer associated in any way, including recovery, with his account.

HIFI778Yeah, I don't believe in price gouging. I simply didn't need it after owning my Atom. I don't have mega-watt headphones so I thought I would be kind and share with someone who just barely missed out.
