If you already joined the original drop for the Tokyo60 keyboard, but you want the cool upgrades offered in the Season 2 version, you’re in luck. The second iteration of the Tokyo60 keyboard raises the stakes with a brand-new set of keycaps, an acrylic diffuser to highlight the backlighting, and a bottom plate to hold it all together. This drop gives you the option to purchase each of the upgrades individually, without grabbing a whole new keyboard. See below for more details on each.
Note: The base price is for the Tokyo60 Season 2 dye-subbed keycap set. At checkout, you can also choose the acrylic diffuser (- $28) or bottom plate (- $14) in akira red, black, ink, rose gold, silver, or space gray.
Made from dye-sublimated PBT plastic, the Season 2 keycaps are durable and resistant to oil buildup that accumulates over time. The dark gray and black colorway is sleek and subtle, but there’s a little bit of flair with the highlighter-yellow function key. Sculpted in Cherry profile, the caps are compatible with Cherry MX switches and clones—so you can put them on another compact keyboard instead if you prefer.
While Season 1 of the Tokyo60 went for more of a subdued look, Season 2 ups the ante with more prominent backlighting. With the acrylic diffuser, you can see the programmable backlighting on full display through the bottom of the board. As the case shape on the second version has remained the same, the diffuser matches the case perfectly, with no complicated setup necessary.
Available in six colors, the bottom plate goes under the acrylic diffuser, like a mech keys sandwich of sorts. While it comes in the same colors as the Season 1 Tokyo60 case, there are also some new colors if you want to add some flair to your case. CNC’d from aluminum, it’s nice and thick to fortify the base.
