Massdrop x Zambumon GMK Jamón Custom Keycap Set

If you’ve ever been to Spain, you’re more than likely familiar with jamón. A type of cured ham, it has a rich, nutty flavor recognized around the world. To pay tribute to the wonderfully salty cured meat, native Spanish designer Zambumon—who you may know from sets like Serika and Nautilus—created GMK Jamón. A collection of deep reds, the set features white legends to convey the marbling of fat, where jamón gets its irresistibly savory flavor. Even if you’re not into cured ham, 2019 is the Year of the Pig in the Chinese zodiac, so there’s plenty to get excited about.

Made in Germany using custom Cherry tooling, GMK Jamón is compatible with a variety of different keyboards, including those with nonstandard and standard layouts. The keycaps themselves are made of 1.5-millimeter-thick doubleshot ABS for longevity and strength. Sculpted in original Cherry profile, they feel comfy and natural from row one to four.

GMK Jamón is built around the Core kit, the starting point for all sets. Comprising 116 keys, it provides coverage for most keyboards ranging from 60% to TKL form factors, including those with a WKL bottom row or stepped caps lock.

The Numpad Kit adds support for 1800 layouts, 96-key layouts, and full-size layouts. An accent enter key and extra compatibility keys have also been included.

This small extension kit adds UK layout support for international layouts. It comes with two accent ISO enter keys and an extra R1 1.00U `¬ key for color symmetry.

The Forties Kit allows compatibility with many 40% and ortholinear keyboards, including the popular Planck. Some additional inclusions are small space bars, a second B (used by some ergonomic and split keyboards), as well as accent enter and escape keycaps.

The space-bar kit extends Jamón’s compatibility, allowing you to cover the Uniqey C70 and Cherry G80-1800 keyboards. Additionally, 6.25U and 7.00U accent space bars are included.

This novelty kit comes with a set of accent arrow keys, an R3 Ñ with ANSI sublegends, and two GMK Jamón–related custom keycaps. And because a pork-inspired set wouldn’t be complete without bacon, there’s a set of F-row bacon strips and eggs, plus bottom-row bacon modifiers.

Pata Negra is a term commonly used to refer to high-quality cured ham from black Iberian pigs. This novelty kit offers an alternative set of dark accent keys and three novelties: acorn, pig, and jamón.
