Hi Everyone,
The Massdrop x Zambumon GMK Nautilus Custom Keycap Sets have arrived at the warehouse and are now being prepared for shipment. We are on track to meet our estimated ship date of December 14.
We’re looking forward to everyone receiving the Nautilus Keycap Set!
AveryCDamn, two keyboard drops in a row that ships on time or better. I feared the worst when I got the email notification. Looking forward to receiving this beauty!
theimmcMaybe your luck is actually changing...
Truthfully we've been working pretty hard to make sure we ship on time or earlier on these projects and I'm glad it's going well. Hope you enjoy the set! It's beautiful.
AveryCWoke up today with my notification that this was shipping, really excited! Was thinking "please not smartpost, please not smartpost" the whole time while clicking the notification, so that ended up being a let down but I guess everything you guys send is SmartPost, now. Can I just say how much of a mistake this is for you guys? Half of the people here will be lucky if t hey receive their caps (assuming they shipped today) any time at all during next week, instead of the following week. In contrast to how affordable USPS priority is and the fact that they pretty much guarantee 2-day shipping most places.
That said, I don't want to drag down this exciting moment with how horrendous the shipping contract decision at MD is. I can't wait to get these. This is one of three keycap sets I currently have in the pipeline from you guys, with matt3o's MT3 keycaps hopefully shipping in the next month and then Oblivion shipping mid next year. Looking forward to all of them, but really looking forward to this being the first to arrive so I can finally get this keyboard outfitted. Thanks, MD!
yanfaliSeriously, haha. It was super exciting, just like that, until I realized it was FedEx and I know it will end up being SmartPost when the tracking info updates. Just a big bummer, there anyway.
TerrorifficaI live in California, and Smartpost seems like the worst of both USPS and FedEx, and slower than either on their own. If it gets to me in 10 days, I'm lucky.
TerrorifficaI always learn so much about the geography of the united states when I watch my package travel the country using smartpost. Congrats for living near the warehouse, you lucky dawg.
theimmcAlso in Cali. Can confirm, takes at *least* 10 days. Sometimes 12-14.
So for over a week everyone is posting their pics on Reddit and getting karma, and then when yours FINALLY arrives... People are so sick of seeing it that you get get little to no karma. Not that I'm a karma whore or anything, but it is pretty lame.
io2redThe record so far is 7 days, which happened for the re-cap. It's ironic it takes so long to get to us here since MD is based out of SF. Ironically if this was just plain USPS it would take 3-4 days max. I love the USPS, they're so damned efficient for small packages. Edited: fast record I meant, not slowest :)
yanfaliI took pictures the day I received my Overcast DSA, and I have the email of when the shipping notification came out. IIRC it took 1 or 2 days for it to actually ship after getting the shipping notification from MD.
So that means it shipped from 10/26-10/27 to 11/06. Which is 12 days. *Right* on point with my initial projection. Guess I broke the record! :D
yanfaliI'm also in California. My package tracking shows that it was picked up on 12/12 and is supposed to get to me on 12/20. That's when the real fun begins, when my local Fedex office decides they're not *really* going to give it to USPS for delivery since it's going to a box at a UPS store and Fedex prefers to do that themselves since they can make one delivery there and drop off a bunch of packages in one shot. Except then the local driver can't be bothered and just marks it as "resident not home or business not open" or "resident not home" (ie, "I'm not delivering this, but will pretend that I tried") for a few days until it's convenient for him. I'd actually be better off if they'd just give it to USPS for delivery like they're supposed to, but that rarely happens for me.
TerrorifficaBut then I won't get my virtual pat on the back! How does one live like this?!?!??!? (Kidding ofc <3)
Forreal though, it sucks to see everyone getting theirs while you're left twiddling your thumbs.
yanfaliWhy is it Ironic? My packages from MassDrop tend to ship out of Edmonton NJ. So coming to Oregon or to California would make sense that it would take a day or two or even 4 days longer. Weekends usually don't count with/towards priority shipping. 9 shipping days is a bit long, but at the end of the year, it makes sense.
WikkiBecause mass drop HQ is in CA. Not NJ. NJ is just the logistics center. I think originally it was here but was too expensive. Also it's ironic that smart post uses USPS but is slower than plain USPS.
yanfaliSmall world! I am getting mine delivered to Woodbridge NJ. Mine is in Edison now but they claim a Monday 18th delivery. Think that counts the USPS hand off or is that just FedEx's leg of the journey?
TheMechanistIm getting mine tomorrow. They handed it from fedex then to usps. Made so sense. It went to PA then to nj, like wut. Took 3 days to travel 30mi
TheMechanistRight now mine is in Salina, KS. Yet another town I had never heard of. Every time I get something from MD it seems to take a different route. It's kind of interesting.
yanfaliYup. Would have had mine two days ago if it hadn't been shipped via shartpost. "Scheduled delivery" was Friday EOD and just got notice from USPS that it's now Monday.
kbdobsessedSorry man. Same here. Mine is in Sacramento waiting to be handed off to USPS for last mile delivery. Fortunately I have a really great postman, and he makes multiple deliveries per day.
yanfalia week after shipping, mine is still sitting in Melrose Park, IL.
I was hoping I would have it by the new year, but given how it's going, that's looking very unlikely.
yanfaliLogistics is fascinating. Now DHL is reporting that my package has "arrived in the destination country", listing "IPZ-Ffm, Germany" as the current location.
I'm in Australia.
sevenseacatI loathe DHL. My sympathies. They once reported through the USPS that they'd sent one of my packages to Puerto Rico just after the hurricane. I was really bummed out. Worked out in the end but very stressful.
AveryCFedEx was claiming a delivery date of yesterday up until Wednesday then suddenly pushed it back to end of day Saturday and I’ll be out of town. No new keys for Christmas for me. It’s a little frustrating how bad the shipping always is... on products that tend to be months late to ship anyway. When something arrives sometimes I have forgotten I ordered it!
