Has anyone in the UK received a set yet? Mine was sent on the 11th, but seems (according to the DHL site) to have been stuck in the same place since the 12th. Really good to see pictures from people's sets. This looked like a fantastic colourway from the initial renders, and this time they look the same or better in final production.

SpoonUnitId like to know this too. No updates on mine since 14/12 and when I plug the external tracking number into Royal Mail it gives an error thing like this.

BelgaerixMy last update is from Hamburg, DE, stating: departed from local distribution center. Just wondering if the bottleneck is there, or somewhere else, or just a system error.

xparruIt's very frustrating, given that the item shipped early (great excitement) and then sat in a warehouse for what is now 12 days (beyond frustrating). I mailed Massdrop support, who basically just shrugged their shoulders and said 'well, let us know if you don't get your order by Jan 8th'!. I appreciate that, once collected, it's out of their hands, but it would have been nice if they could have at least made an enquiry with DHL and asked what the nature of the delay is, given that they're the customer and DHL is not really doing the job they've been paid to do. I've also emailed contacted DHL via their tracking page; so far no response.

This in itself is mysterious, as the item seems to bounce from the US to Germany here. The only positive thing so far is that I found a good site for looking up tracking codes: http://www.parcelcode.com/.

SpoonUnitCurious indeed the travel between two continents. That makes two back-and-forth trips for that Nautilus, if I'm not wrong. I can only hope this is due to xmas / other disruption caused by sudden aggregation on tiny parcels around the globe, and not a complete loss of our precious caps. Guess we are the unlucky ones who do not get to place these caps under the tree just yet. I'll keep posting should the situation evolve.

xparru07:06 in US, 13:25 in DE. 13:36 in US, 18:29 in DE. It's really hard to guess what's going on. However, it's been sitting in Germany since the 12th, that's surely an even bigger fail that nothing has arrived yet.

BelgaerixI finally got a reply from DHL eCommerce saying that the parcel was with RoyalMail. I then queried Royal Mail to find the parcel had arrived at the local depot. I'm now quietly confident that it should arrive Wednesday or Thursday and there's even a remote possibility that, with the extra volume of mail lat this time of year, that it's escaped import tax and processing fees. Only time will tell.

BelgaerixAlso, on the score of contacting CCL, the last parcel I had from Massdrop I did get an email direct from CCL requesting payment. On that occasion, the parcel had come from the US direct to the UK. However, on this occasion, the parcel has gone via Germany (visible on RoyalMail tracking). I'm wondering if, when it hits the UK from Germany, it's automatically assumed to be from Europe and hence no additional fees become payable. I'd suggest the first thing you do it grab the delivery code from DHL's site and pump that in the royal mail tracking site and see what happens. If like mine yours has gone through Germany, you might find it's now at a nearby post office.

SpoonUnitHey Spoon, I'm in the exact same spot as you, with the exact same error on the RM website and exact same shipping route, and I also haven't heard anything about customs charges. I've been wondering where the hell my keycaps have been. I contacted the Royal Mail last week sometime and they didn't really tell me a lot. Would it be a good idea to call again tomorrow to inquire again? I'm new to all this.

neeyolSo here's the total status of mine now:
from DHL

And from Royal Mail

So basically it sits for 11 days in the same location though it looks as though that was a transit from US to DE, possibly via boat. Then it shows up in the UK on the 23rd and according to Royal Mail it's from Germany. Two further updates bring it closer and closer and there's no update (shock horror) on Christmas Day or Boxing Day. So, I half expect it to be delivered tomorrow while I'm out. If yours is in a similar state, give it a day or two. But it sounds as though you already talked to them and it's more ambiguous. Ultimately you've got to do what you've got to do to get hold of it. I wouldn't expect it to escape from Heathrow without VAT paid, but mine seems to have. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

neeyolYep, tax always feels mean. The way it breaks down is 20% VAT on the purchase price + an 8 quid handling fee. In this case, that's 22 quid VAT. I got the base set and novelties. Happy to say everything is just as ordered and this message is the first typed with them on :).

SpoonUnitI am insanely jealous. Seeing as yours took 11 days, I'm going to give it until Friday in hopes I get some form of action. I've contacted Massdrop with the issues, just as a way to say "Hey Royal Mail, the place I bought them says you got them (or whatever MD say), where the hell are they?". Unfortunately I forgot to buy the novelties and I'm kicking myself for it. Enjoy the set mate, I'm glad the saga is over for you.

Silent Holy Panda X?

I ordered some Holy Panda X switches, and I fell in love with them. They are a joy to type on. There's just one problem. The place that I use my keyboard to type the most is obviously at work, which is a problem if I want to use the Holy Panda X in the office around a whole bunch of people. I really don't want to torture my coworkers with the clack of these switches. I'd rather they still liked me. The good news is that, for me, the actuation of the Holy Panda X is the best part. I could take or leave the sound it makes; even if it is fantastic. Which leads me to my conundrum: is there another "silent" switch that feels similar to the Holy Panda X? Is there a piece I can remove from the Holy Panda X that would allow me to make them silent? Or am I going to have to wait and see if Drop will drop a Silent Holy Panda X for the in-office mech community?
