Our Commerce team let me take the Gastroflex Muffin mold home for the wife and I to bake with. I've used lots of silicone based products before, like silpats, spatulas, ice cube trays but never used a baking mold before. My wife and I cook a lot, but generally don't bake because we're A) lazy and B) hate cleanup. I grew up cleaning up after my mom's baking which was always a lot of scrubbing of those steel muffin pans.
When I brought it home, my wife remarked how identical it was to our large cube ice trays. My housemate's boyfriend was over (whose a professional chef) remarked how they use almost nothing BUT silicone baking molds in most of the high end kitchens he works in. So that was a good start.
Some Key points 1) It's very flexible as it's soft silicone so be careful when you load it up with stuff to bake. Use both hands! 2) Does it really just go in the oven like that? Yeah...Yeah it does! 3) I'd say depending on your oven and the way your racks are setup you may want a tray under it for stability and also to catch any spillage should you have some. 4) Just because it's silicone doesn't mean it's not REALLY HOT when you take it out. Oven mitts aren't great with these, I'd recommend a towel or hot pads to try and pick it up out of the oven, unless you're using an under tray. 5) Totally dishwasher safe! Cranked my dishwasher up to sanitize, which is enough to overcook fish (PS try poaching fish in your dishwasher it works well). It came out the other side fine.
Here are some pictures of my second bake. I totally forgot to take pictures of the mostly from scratch muffins we made, so I grabbed some Trader Joe's Scone mix and made these:

I've taken a lot of food out of a lot of containers in my day (especially before it's cooled down) but never has anything ever come out of a baking mold this easy. We used muffin liners the first time, but if I were to do it again, I wouldn't. These come out so perfectly there's no need.

BrainFlushI try and do these when I can. I totally agree. I'm not an expert in cooking but neither are most of us. And I think that matters.
That at being said some times it's hard for us to use our samples as we frequently send them back.

zndrNo way. Dude. Put a clause in the contract allowing you full use and ownership of the item before the drop.
If a company won't agree to this. What's that say about their integrity?
