The Matrix Mini-i Pro 2SK packs the functionality of a DAC, headphone amp, and speaker preamp into one sleek, compact package. The star of the show is the ES9026PRO chip: an audiophile-grade DAC primed to be the center of your audio system Read More
This model is the same as the Mini-i Pro 2S except it does not have Bluetooth built in and the remote is optional (not included).
It uses the ESS Sabre ES9026PRO DAC chip. The analog XLR and RCA outputs are both active at the same time. You can connect the XLR to a pair of powered monitors and the RCA to a subwoofer.
Be aware that this unit doesn't have an analog input or balanced headphone-out.
I have my eye on the upcoming Monoprice Monolith THX AAA DAC/amp. We'll see if its Dirac Sensaround processing delivers what it promises.

the output impedance is 10ohms, which is high. This won’t work well with low impedance headphones, and probably not even medium impedance unless the impedance curve is very flat. unlike freq response curves, most impedance curves are very much not flat.
This looks interesting, but would like to see how the technical specs match with actual testing. Of special interest to is: in DAC mode are the outputs actually balanced or just split in two XLRs.
