I bought this on a whim, having heard praises about it. My typical setup is the HD650/HD600 with the Bottlehead Crack + Speedball. I didn't expect much from the Matrix at first. I must admit this is a solid performer for the Sennheisers. I certainly like this setup for vocals better than with the Crack.

I agree, bring the DAC version back! It dropped a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, it was a buyer short of the lowest price. :/ Might still jump on this if there is activity. Really itching to try this amp with the DT880 250ohm.

fieryoOoIt'll work fine. IIRC, this amp is/was recommended a lot with the HD800. And IIRC also, the K712 has similar sound characteristics as the HD800s(which the K7XX are similar to by transitive property).
tl;dr : It's a good amp.
