Great looking watch
I really like this watch. I was after a nice watch with a moonphase and day-date-month but a lot of them were out of my price range. This was very reasonable for what it is. My only qualm is the date function. It's not easy to read at times and is a function that I consider more important than the month and day. I gave it 5 stars because I knew this going in and it's not a disappointment.

I'll talk about the actual experience with Massdrop. The watch was delivered totally brand new, box and user guide included. As usual, this is grey market so the warranty/registration card comes blank. The watch comes from New Jersey so there's no way to tell who's the actual vendor of this one. The shipment is fast and happened before the estimated date, considering that I got it to USA as well, so no taxes or import duties. I got the silver dial with golden hands and golden hour markers. The first days of wearing the watch, I noticed that the legibility is subpar, but you get used to that. This is the reason for me giving 4 stars on this review. If the hour hands were blue (like the day indicator), the legitility would be great. I miss some lume on the hands, but I like that this watch has some formal appearance, even considering how busy the dial is. There are not so many watches with the ETA Valjoux 7751 and you'll have even a harder time finding one at this price point. The case is mostly brushed and has some polished sections. The water resistance is a joke, so I'll avoid by all means getting this one wet. I don't like the button at 10 used for the name of the day adjustment. This is the other reason for me giving 4 star rating. I would have prefered the buttons that you find on any perpetual calendar or on the Longines Master Collection which uses this very same movement. The day button is so easy to press because it doesn't have much resistance. Those accidental presses happened to me lots of times the first days I was wearing the watch. Correcting the actual name of the day may not be hard to do (six presses at most), but if you happen to press that button while the watch is slowly changing the whole date (between 21:00 and 3:00) you're seriously risking to damage your watch, and that's not an easy or cheap repair. So you must be really careful regarding that button. The chronograph buttons are solid and somewhat hard to press but the hands move smoothly without skipping or anything like that. Good overall functionality indeed. The dial is busy but it's one of the most straighforward I've found on watches with the Valjoux 7751 Before this watch, I used to own the Longines Master Collection and now that I've compared both dials, I appreciate the simplification of the dial on the Maurice Lacroix. I don't like the way that the "Maurice Lacroix" is applied to the dial... I would have preferred that logo to be painted, not glued. Regarding the time keeping accuracy, it's fine for me. I don't really synchronize the seconds hand with a reference timing because anyway the watch is going to gain/lose seconds every day, even if this one were a chronometer, which it's not. So I don't really mind careful syncing the hour. However, when I double check the time (both on the wath and the cell phone) both seem to have the same time. So good accuracy for me. I can't comment on the strap because first thing I did was to change it for a beautiful Miltat bracelet: the Angus Jubilee 316L SS Watch Bracelet 20mm Straight End, Brushed/Polished, V-Clasp sold by Strapcode. That's a gorgeous bracelet and really makes a great combination with the watch: it doesn't cheapen the watch and now the watch looks even more refined and elegant. This particular watch may be somewhat hard to adjust if it stops. For that reason I've put it on a watch winder. I don't really use watch winder with watches that have only a calendar funcion (date and day) but when the watch requires to to adjust the full calendar (month, date, day) and the moonphase, I really prefer not to mess with that everytime I'll wear it. So this one goes to the watch winder.
