After doing some research, it seems like there virtually no alternative to this little thing besides even more expensive stuff like razer orbweaver or numpads. Or getting a microcontroller and some copper wire and building one from scratch. Seriously, these are the only options? While it may be cheap comparing to what you can spend on mech accessories (I'm looking at you, Topre numpad), it still feels overpriced to me.

mozaiqI found this thing - http://www.fentek-ind.com/kppc21ub.htm#.V1H0RVe9pYc - but it's Cherry ML, and it's a numpad. However, each key can carry a 24-character macro, whereas the Falcon-8 - according to the guy I talked to - can handle over 70 characters per key. I'm leaning toward getting both, though.
