I haven't seen mention of it anywhere (including here), is that a tritium insert on the backspacer?

So what hrc is it? The dhgate page say 59-60hrc, in the pictures it says 62hrc and the Massdrop page says 65hrc. If it really is 65hrc guaranteed 100% I will buy it. Can you confirm this please.

anonomousOn BHQ Maxace knives are 62HRC for M390. There's no such thing as a 65 HRC M390 blade. Normal HT will maybe allow you to get 63 but at most it'll be 62 at max.

HowAmIOh I know lol. Only with cyro/deep freeze can it even get to 62-63 which I've only seen on a very few makers knives.

Massdrop needs to drop the word "Integral" from this listing. It's so misleading. No other seller would use this description.

Agree, This is clearly a 3 piece knife, with a larger than average backspacer that mounts on the outside, not the inside. I'm sure the goal was to create something with the rigidity of an integral, but easier to manufacture and service. BladeHQ had called it a "hybrid integral", but I can't even buy that as the most important part of the knife isn't part of the "integral" structure. Can't blame Maxace, they're clearly shooting for something with ease of manufacturing and user servicing while maintaining a (sort of kind of) lower price point. However, true integrals can be had at this price if that's something one needs to have. TBH, I haven't detected any noticeable advantage in day-to-day use with mine.

LovecraftianMassdrop may be doubling down on the idea that the framelock itself is somehow "integral". I mean, the lock itself is "integral" to the frame, right? Not so. A non-integral frame lock is called a liner lock. You can't just go throwing the word "integral" into the description of a knife.

That clip looks very low on the side profile, I'm curious how well it will get over the lip of a standard pocket as it looks to only fit over very thin materials...

Before joining the drop (and spending this much cash on an imported knife) I'd like to see images of the locking side of the knife, and images of the closed knife with both blade shape options. Considering all the other errors already mentioned in this offer listing, a bit more comprehensive information would be greatly appreciated.

Hey massdrop you guys need to fix this it isn't an Integral knife it's an integral design. A true integral has a solid handle, one full piece not 3 no matter how it's made. The rike 1508s is a true integral. EDIT: After looking at more pictures and options the knife isn't even a tanto like it says, tanto is blade not spine so thats a reverse tanto blade.

In no way do I want to endorse this particular listing. I just want to answer the question as to why the *claimed* attributes add up to an expensive knife. First, Bohler M390 is one of the latest "super" steels; good corrosion resistance, excellent sharpness, great edge retention. Second, an "integral" handle is a one-piece frame carved from solid titanium; this means no screws holding the handle together, no need for handle maintenance, super easy to clean and maintain.
The downside here is obviously that is not an integral handle. If they're "fibbing" on that count, how good do you feel about that being actual M390? How capable are they at heat treating and hardening this new steel?

So I got a rike 1508 in green and paid $370 dollars for it and that knife is a true integral and has m390 steel. I got it from massdrop a while.back and it is by far the best knife I own and I have 3 m390 knives. The quality on the knife is amazing.

Seriously, these chinese companies are just looking to rip us at this point, if people want an awesome knife for less than this go pick up some of the ZT models being discontinued like the Rexford models, get a design made by a real industry legend, equal materials, a better company with a lifetime warranty for less $$ than this china produced knife with little to no backing if anything goes wrong.

Your right, whoever designed this clearly is ahead of Rexford's designs, no big time collector respects that guy..... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
And your point about zt screws?? Maxace staff should master Engrish before commenting on here. 😉

Some serious issues with this listing.... If it is integral why the handle screws holding it together? How can the blade be longer than the handle it folds into? 65 rockwell on m390?!?! Even if I believe that (which I don't since its above what Bohler, the makers of m390 steel, recommend for optimal rockwell) I sure as hell never wanna try to sharpen it!! 😂

GoodTimesI've checked on three different websites and the blade length is 95mm which is roughly 3.7 inches and they all state hardened from 60-61 HRC
Someone at massdrop didn't get their coffee this morning ;)

Qball50The blue body of the knife is an integral piece that is connected to the integral backspacer.

Really wanted to get one of these but a 4.7 " blade? Come on that's just a little large for a EDC blade. Shorten it up to 3.25 to 3.50 and I am in. To bad as it is a sweet looking blade with a steel I really like.
